Derek / Radio Host
Derek Stubbs is no stranger to the Gospel Music Industry. He has been around gospel music all of his life. Singing with his brothers at church kept him around many gospel concerts and his love for it got him promoting it. He hosted his first official production in 1991 and that was when history began.
Stubbs has worked with many gospel greats through the years such as the late Rev. Timothy Wright (the Godfather of gospel), Ronald Winans, Candi Staton, Lee Williams, Vickie Winans, Stephen Hurd, Derrick Starks, and the list goes on. He has worked as on-island coordinator for the American Gospel Quartet Convention, The Shipp Family Cruise, The Prayze Factor Inspiration at Sea Cruise, The Southern Gospel Radio Cruise, The Gospel USA Magazine Fellowship Retreat, The Praise Fest Cruise with a Cause and The Redemption World Record Cruise.
Derek is also a correspondent for the Gospel USA Magazine and the Glory to God Television Station based in Atlanta Georgia. He is the founder of the Interdenominational Mass Choir which has been in existence for some 20 years, the Public Relations Manager for the Legendary Cooling Waters and Director of the Bahama Youth Brass Band G.B. Segment. Derek has received numerous awards in his field, most recently he captured the South Florida Gospel Music Award 2019-2020 in the Category of Promoter of the Year.
He is married to Sherrie Bartlett and they have one daughter, Deshea.
Derek’s favourite scripture is Psalms 22: 9 -11 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast. 10 From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God. 11 Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.
His favorite saying is: “Sherry” This is because he’s always talking about his wife.
